The society recently created a program that aims to reclaim and recycle discarded monofilament fishing line. Monofilament not only destroys boat motors, but is also detrimental to wildlife. Once looped, the strong line becomes tighter when pulled and entanglement often leads to a very stressful or deadly outcome for an animal.

Members have traveled from San Marcos all the way to south Texas to retrieve this deadly litter, and with the help of the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment, we will continue to combat the dangers of this harmful debris.
